Product Description:
All process variables, status flags, setpoints, manipulated variables, parameters and configuring switch settings can be transmitted and received via the serial interface module. Serial data transfer can take place on a point-to-point basis via the RS232 interface; alternatively, the SIPART bus with up to 32 participants can be used, in which case a SIPART bus driver and a power pack are required. If used in the SIPART DR19 and SIPART DR21 contollers, data
can also be transferred across a serial bus using the RS485 interface.
Which method is used (RS232, SIPART bus, RS485) is determined using jumpers on the module. If the appropriate software is installed on a higher-level system, all controllers in the SIPART family can be connected together in
parallel on a bus (e. g. SIMATIC interface). Should you want to write your own interface software, a detailed
technical description of the telegram trffic is provided for each type of controller.
